Okonta Emeka Okelum, Asaba

No better words could define the moment, than simply put but a heroic and best of warming reception.

Asaba street stood still as the leadership and membership of the Asaba 3rd company, Anglican Boy's Brigade of the Holy Trinity Church, celebrated one of their own.

The kid champion is a nine year old and primary five pupil of St. Peter's Cathedral Primary School, Asaba, for Master Victory Onyedikachukwu Chukwubuikem Okondu, it can only be God's favour, his parents, brigade's leaders and personal hard work made him.

Words were not enough for his parents, Venerable & Mrs J.A. Mordi, to express their gratitude for the feat their son recorded.

Mrs Helen Azukaego Mordi, Master Victory's mother, shared with us what led to the success story today.

Some wèeks ago, our son was invited to represent our parish and Delta State at a National tournament for junior category of the Boy's Brigade at Abuja.

To God be the glory, he placed first, we thank God for this great feat and also thank the brigade's leadership for their committment at helping to shape kid's future.

Few days before the tournament, his personal confidence to embrace the challenge shocked me and today it paid off, Mrs Mordi said.

Victory is a good reader, he loves to read, from birth till now, his name has always spoken volumes about him, his name stood him apart.

Today, I stand tall and most especially, I return all thanks to God and also appreciate the leadership of our parish's boy's brigade, they really helped us shape our son's victory celebrated today, Mrs Mordi pointed out.

His elated father, Venerable J.A Mordi, said, it is only God, who has done it for his son, secondly, hard work helped my boy, he had studied hard and stayed focus.

He charged the church's youths and members of the Boy's Brigade to always stay glued to the Lord and his words, work hard and stay focused on the path that leads to greatness.

Happy victorious victory expressed gratitude to all who came to give him the heroic reception, his boy's brigade leaders and lots of thanks to God for his love and blessings.

For Mr Chiagoziem Onianwa, captain of the 3rd Asaba company told our reporter that the programs and activities of the brigade has capacities to undo on going societal vices.
